PROJECT TITLE:   South Wake Water Line and Penny Road Booster Pump Station Upgrade

and Study

FIRST YEAR ESTIMATED OPERATING COSTS:   None

 

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

This project funds a study of the Town of Apex and Town of Cary water distribution systems in the vicinity of the Penny Road booster pump station.  The study’s focus is the evaluation of flow capacity in either direction from one water system to the other.  Total project cost is estimated at $175,000.  $75,000 was appropriated to the project in FY 2009.  The FY 2010 appropriation of $100,000 fully funds the study.

 

PROJECT JUSTIFICATION:

This project is necessary in order to fully understand the potential for moving water to and from the Apex and Cary water systems in the event that an emergency water supply is needed.
